Kevin Cooper was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Sr. Master Sergeant James D. Cooper and Liza Cooper. His parents were both born in Kilmichael, MS. Kevin was educated in Birdville public schools and graduated from Stephen F. Austin. State University in 1990. He is a Sigma Chi, a Master Mason, a Past Master of University Masonic Lodge in Austin, TX, Past District Deputy Grand Master AFAM, and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He has worked for the United States Senate and the State of Texas and is currently a lobbyist with the Ratliff Company. Kevin is a Lutheran and resides in Austin with his wife Paige and their two children, Catie and Reagan.
