My mother was only 13 when her mother passed away so she knew very little about her background ... in 2004 I began staying with my mother on the weekends to help with her care. I began doing the family genealogy to give us something to share during the time I spent there. Every time I would walk in she would ask "Have you found anything new"? She would spend hours going over everything I had found and typed up. If I didn't have anything new she would reread what I already had!!

Mom passed away in 2006 at the age of 93. My notebooks have all been setting on the shelf since then, it just wasn't the same without her to share it with .. but I have now become reinterested and am "digging" again!!

Doing the family genealogy is like putting a giant puzzle together and each piece I have found has been such a thrill!! I decided perhaps it was time to start sharing some of the info I have in order to help others find that great thrill that comes with finally finding another piece!!!! So .. if you have the surname Shrider, McCurdy, Winnett or Gresham / Grissom in your ancestry you MIGHT find a piece of your puzzle here when I get them all posted!!!
