Photographing memorial sites and gravesites is a hobby of mine because of my interest in geneology. Walking cemeteries is not only a peaceful way to get exercise, it is also prayerful and can inspire creativity. I look for graves that are freshly decorated or that illustrate the season and take photos of them. At times I take on a project of investigating the deceased person in newspapers, on ancestry.com and in the library if I find an older grave that has not be added to Find-a-Grave. In addition, I have been instructed in cleaning gravestones by a local expert and join a local group on their cleaning projects.
