I have recently moved to Austin, Texas, after living in New Mexico for 17 years. I grew up in Alabama with summers on my Nana's farm in Red Banks, MS. I've been tracing my roots on and off for the last few years.
My mother's family centers mostly around Corinth, MS. Her mother was Lucille Smith and father was Morris Wilson. They're buried in Shiloh Baptist Cemetery with my uncle and most of my grandfather's family. His side has been carefully traced by some great genealogists in Corinth. The Smith side has been hard going.
My father's family centers mostly around Memphis and Eads, TN. One of these sides has already been traced back to William the Conquer which is pretty cool. I'm still working on the Sewards.
This is a fun hobby for me when I'm not knitting, spinning or dyeing yarn for my online business.
