My memorials are always "a work in progress." I like for them to be more than just dates; I want them to tell you something about a life that was lived. When someone passes from this life, we often look at the "Born" and "Died" dates when in reality, the joy, sorrow, happiness, pain, love, and laughter all occur in-between.

Every summer, my parents would load 5 kids into the station wagon and drive to Clintwood, Virginia to visit my Grandmother, Nora (Swindall) Vanover-Fleming. We always stopped to visit my many aunts, uncles and cousins, and the M.T. Swindall Family Cemetery in Osborne Gap.
