I have been collecting scrapbooks, photographs, film and sale of archive auctioned.
In the pre-internet days I found many items in Salvation Armies, Goodwills and small thrift shops. Those were the golden days of collecting before the internet and Antique Road Show runined it for collectors of the past on a limited budget.
The internet does has its advantage, for important tools like Find A Grave where I always start to research item if there is a name.
