I'm a genetics genealogist, mixing research with DNA analysis, and a family historian, hailing originally from the Delmarva Peninsula, currently residing in Apollo Beach, FL. I have trees on ancestry.com Messick-Cralle Connections which includes Messick settlers in the Delmarva & Cralle family back to the 1600s. Also my husband's family tree - Williamson-Hurley Family Tree. This group of Williamsons were from England and the Northeast. The Hurleys came over from Ireland in the 1800s, and include the Kendrigan families and Shanahan families. In addition I manage trees of some of the families that I have helped over the years.
I have a genealogy service - Gifts of Yesterday Genealogy, where I work a flexible, as required schedule with the focus of helping people find their long lost families using historical references and DNA testing. I combine standard research with DNA technology, using a variety of platforms and mediums, collaborating with peers around the country, to put the pieces together. My work has been published in PA, CA, and IL. The University of Louisville has contacted me about using a piece of my research in an upcoming documentary. I was presented with the Excellence in Historic Preservation Award by MSDAR in 2023 for my work in helping locate records of lost souls in a neglected historical African American cemetery in Crisfield, MD. Historical societies in numerous states including PA, IN, IL, MD, FL have catalogued my research .
Examples of DNA related cases: - : 1 case in Cambria Co, PA involving 20 siblings separated at birth. 1 case also in Cambria Co, PA, with 9 siblings separated at birth. 1 case in Dorchester Co, MD, where 6 siblings were separated very young, and a connected case involving 11 separated siblings, just to name a few of the more complicated ones. With my service, I provide the facts , while weaving them into a chronology and applying DNA analysis.
