I'm a family history buff with strong ties to the Southern U.S. My family on my father's side goes all the way back to the original "Old 300" Austin Colony settlers in Texas (the first officially approved colony of non-Spanish/Mexicans in Texas). Others were early settlers in what is now the United States, mostly from Virginia southwards. All of my ancestors arrived here before 1800.
