Kathie K. "Kat" Donahue has been a family historian for almost 50 years. She has gained an elevated level of ability in the field of genealogy through researching and documenting lines within her own family tree and helping others new to genealogy, to build their own.
Her research projects have included a multi-year generation to generation paper, documenting her lineage back to Mayflower Passenger, Peter Brown, resulting in becoming a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, a compilation on her 4th Great Granduncle, Samuel Long Cannon (1805-1885) and his children, as they traversed the Oregon Trail with well-known trail diarist, Winfield Scott Ebey, in 1854, and recently completed a two year project discovering her husband's maternal lineage back to Waldkirch, Germany that had never been researched before.
In June of 2026, she completed a comprehensive Headstone & Burial survey for Maple Grove Cemetery, Hooppole, Henry County, Illinois for Alba Township officials.
Kathie is married to Francis H. "Chip" Donahue and has lived in Sterling, Illinois for thirty-nine years.
