Growing up on The Farm next to Norman Cemetery in Central Ohio gave me a natural curiosity at a very young age about the headstones and the people at rest in the cemetery. Helping my Grandfather care for the cemetery as a teenager increased my respect for the headstones, and I had a lot of time to study each one while carefully trimming the grass around them.
Relocating from Ohio to Arizona in the late '60's took me away from family and friends in my home state, but fond memories of days spent in the cemetery stayed with me. Eventually, my family history research began in earnest in 2009, in great part on Find A Grave, where I continue to be surprised to find ancestors who have passed on, and connect or reconnect with cousins near and far who are researching the same family members.
