I have been researching my family for many years sometimes spending hours and hours sorting through information in the court houses. Since the computer era, I have been a member of Ancestry.com and have transfered my accumlation of documents and photos to my tree. I have been very fortunate to have personally known 6 of my 8 great grand parents with the last one passing away in 2000 at the age of 99.
The lines that I have researched are Allen, Goin, Franklin, Marvel, Willis, Tucker, McGehee and McPherson. So far I have approximately 9,000 family members in my tree. As I approach retirement, I may try to write a book on my family but we will see.
I live in Central Illinois where I grew up in the 1960's. The majority of my ancestors are from Southern Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee. I am very willing to assist anyone with the information that I have, just send me a note. If you need a photo from somewhere near me, just let me know and I will do my best.
Update: In Sep 2020, I moved to Middle Tennessee so I would be able to assist ancestors in this area.
