I actively research family history for myself and for friends. I am not a professional genealogist, but I do have extensive research experience. To help others (not just my family), I research family connections and submit suggestions for edits in F.A.G., particularly to add links to family members.

I assisted my mom for years (before the internet). Our family visited libraries, cemeteries, and other places with public records. My mom (deceased) did an incredible job. I am continuing the research and adding to the family history she had already compiled.

I have engaged my daughter's assistance in taking pictures of gravestones. We recently ventured into an overgrown, abandoned cemetery. We were able to get some photos and found some gravestones for graves that had not been recorded. Even though none of the persons buried in the cemetery were my family, I think it is important to memorialize those that came before us and their contributions to our community.
