I have been doing research for almost 40 years on my family, long before the internet ever existed!!! I have published one book in the 1980s on my family. All memorials posted here I am either directly descended from or are siblings/cousins of my ancestors. My main focus over the years has been on the following families:
Alexander Givens family of Cooper Co., Mo. and Fleming Co., Ky.
The Splawns of Daviess Co., Mo. who descended from John Splawn and wife Sebrina Helms Splawn of Fairfield Co., S.C.
The Calhoon Family of Trumbull Co. and Mahoning Co., Ohio, specifically Samuel Calhoon and Agnes Nancy Thompson Calhoon and their descendents. I have focused on one son Samuel Calhoon who married Margaret Burk who died in Sullivan Co., Mo. My DAR membership is through son Samuel's (wife Margaret Burk) line.
