I was introduced to Find a Grave about 2000 by a cousin. Together we tried to add as many members of our family as we possibly could. It wasn't long before my cousin became the subject of his own memorial page. Eventually, I realized that there was more I could do than just search for my own family. So, I began trying to add photos whenever I could. Recently I became involved in a cemetery project in my area. A friend and I began searching through the hills, bushes and briers for long abandoned cemeteries, adding what we find to Find a Grave.
Find a Grave is a great site for people who are researching their family. We have made it our goal to do whatever we can to make it the very best it can be.
I would like to add that if you are researching family, please use the information on memorials as a reference, but not as fact unless you can find documentation to prove it. I am speaking from experience in my own family. There have been a lot of things added and a lot of links made by assumption and without proof. Some of which can be proven inaccurate but impossible to correct once it has been added.
