My interest in genealogy and learning more about relatives, especially direct ancestors, began in high school -- in large part through my paternal grandmother Cherry C. (Starr) Hein and her brother Jack Raymond Starr who helped pique this interest. It was also fun to pass this interest onto my son Erik Hendrickson who developed a love for his Cherokee roots and history, too.
I love how each person has their own genealogy "puzzle" of sorts that is unique to them. I also think it's pretty cool how you don't know where this puzzle-type road will take you -- it is something of an adventure at times.
To those who leave flowers and kind words at the memorials that I have created and / or have been transferred to me, THANK YOU! It is so touching that others care to pause and show their care and interest.
