I am currently busy researching the history of Oregon City, Oregon and the people who lived here. My primary project is locating biographies of people buried at Mountain View Cemetery - the oldest public cemetery in the Oregon Territory.

I'm creating a virtual cemetery of veterans who were members of Meade Post No. 2, G. A. R. as I work through transcribing old rosters of the post. Many, but not all, of the veterans buried at Mountain View were members, but many more of the 300+ members are buried around the United States.
One of the early settlers of Oregon City was Captain John Heard Couch who settled first in Oregon City and later developed the Alphabet District in Portland. Working on reuniting dead families in his extensive family tree to each other in Find A Grave - oddly interesting exercise!
