Linda grew up in Massachusetts, and has spent many years researching branches of her own family tree (piggybacking off research of her grandmother and great-aunt in the 1970’s). Ancestors include Lt. Brian Hall, Major Brian Hall, Moses Pinder, Ephraim Lane & William Grout who fought in the American Revolution, Stephen Hopkins who arrived on the Mayflower, noted Bangor/Boston artists Walter & Wilbur Lansil, silent film star Mae Gaston, Acadian ancestors and family from Wales, England, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Lithuania and Ireland (likely Scots-Irish).
Linda retired from a career as a Finance Executive in Corporate America several years ago and in her spare time hikes, bikes, cross country skis and volunteers with several non-profits. Besides genealogy, she enjoys cooking, photography, travel, learning Spanish, sipping red wine (at book club, of course!), socializing with friends and playing/snuggling with cats. In April 2015, she and her family relocated to Arlington, Virginia where she is learning to navigate NARA, The Library of Congress and the DAR Library.
She has held beginning genealogy seminars at the local library and a Kiwanis meeting in Jackson, New Hampshire. She enjoys helping friends and family get started with their genealogy!
