I have been doing genealogy for about 11 years trying to find out about my ancestors. Luckily, many of them were from this area. I have spent many hours walking through cemeteries looking at headstones. When I found out about this website, I figured I could help someone out while I am doing my own research.
I am always searching for descendents of my ancestors. I have found a handful of cousins that I never knew existed that live in this area. It is very rewarding when you can find 'living' relatives after finding so many relatives who are gone. It's sad and frustrating when you find someone, only to realize that they died a year ago or two years ago! Think of all the stories they would have had!
I descend from families mostly in the Delaware area, mostly in New Castle. However, some of my ancestors moved on to Philadelphia, Chester, Virginia and who knows where? The family names I am related to are:
King, Barnes, Point, Fogg, Speicher, Truitt, Rossell, Gallagher, Cannon, Rigby, Lamb, Watts, Dobbs.
My mother was from Hawaii. My ancestors from Hawaii are Parker (Parker Ranch on the Big Island), Purdy, Lindsey, Palmer and Lopes. The Lindseys, Parkers and Palmers are originally from Newton, Mass.
