I currently live in Jackson, MS and have only recently become interested in genealogy. I have been working on my husband's family mostly and half of mine. I hail from upper east Tennessee, Kingsport and Johnson City, but lived in Austin, Texas from May 1954 until June 1962, most of the time. I also lived for a few months in Alamogordo, NM in about 1957 or so while my brother was stationed at Holloman AFB at White Sands Proving Grounds.
I am retired from BellSouth with 35 years service and I am doing this as a hobby.
In Mississippi, I am working on the Carsons, Vances, Pullens', Parkers, Collins and others connected.
In Tennessee I am working on the Hezekiah Carr Johnson line of Johnsons and the Gate City and Clinchport, Tomlinsons. My work on my father's family goes nowhere and I'm not even sure who his parents were--he didn't know either. He was raised by a lady in a boarding house in Keystone, WV--or nearby in the McDowell County area.
