For the past 25 years my passion has been genealogy research. I carry on the tradition of my dear cousin, Lana Lee Hamler Hollinger; who started the HAMLER genealogy research long before me, but passed away in 2002. I started with just my immediate family and it sort of grew from there. Today there are over 41 thousand people in my Ancestry.Com file. I also have used "Find A Grave" in my research. The beauty of this website is that it combines my love for genealogy with my need of exercise. I go to cemeteries, take pictures of headstones, then add them online.

I suppose it was also due to my deep respect for those that came before us, that I began these efforts. When our forefathers came from other lands and states and entered the Ohio valley, there wasn't a Wal-Mart waiting for them. All they had was a covered wagon, a few tools, seed for planting, their families, and in most cases, a strong belief in God. On average each early family had 12 children, but lost 2 in infancy to diseases we now control with medication. They had to be a strong lot, to leave family and friends and venture into the unknown. In some cases they died young, and left us a history of their efforts.

I had to retire in 2009 due to health problems; but that freed me to work on my genealogy full time. I will research each person and add detail when possible, and I will connect family links when found. And as a Vietnam Veteran, I will add a flag memorial to all of those who served our country. Until our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ calls us home..... Happy Searching!
