In 1992, I began to search for my father, whom I had not seen since I was four years old. I was forty-eight years old at the time. I only knew his name and that he was born in Arkansas, near Oklahoma. I had no genealogical experience.

By 1997, I had discovered his mother's side of the family, met many of them and traced her ancestors back to England, France and Germany.

In 1998, I located my paternal grandfather's family and over the next years met and researched their ancestors.
