I moved to Whitecourt in 1980 with CIBC. My first child was born here. I transferred around the province and on to NWT. I came back to Whitecourt in 1996 after training as a Library and Info Tech and landed a term position with the Whitecourt Library as Circulation Head just as the library was about to automate. I stayed there for three years through automation and then Landed a job managing the Whitecourt Royal Canadian Legion Br. 44. I spent three years in that posion, where I met my husband Robert (Bob) Morrison in 2000 and we married in 2003 at Kenora Ontario.
Bob was born in Whitecourt in 1942 and has a lot of stories about early pioneers, his childhood, the lumber industry, the oil boom and pulp mills. He's well schooled in the trucking of goods in Alberta especially where oil field equipment is concerned. He has hauled lumber, livestock, gravel, chips for pulp, and groceries in his earliest experiences. It was his lifetime of experiences in this one location that inspired me to record for online access, the cemetery in Whitecourt.
I am currently photographing all gravemarkers in the Whitecourt Alberta Canada graveyard. I am also working from a transcript provided to me by the Town of Whitecourt. When complete, I will provide the link to this page to The Town of Whitecourt for their Web Page.
Having worked for years as a banker and more as a librarian, and many decades as an ancestry sleuth you can count on accurate info.
