I am an American currently living in Portugal.

I've long been interested in genealogy. In particular, I'm interested in the Lindsey, Lamb, Scott, and Deardorff lines. I've completed two family history books for my family, and an historical fiction book based on the life of my great-great-grandfather.

I also write historical nonfiction. My book, Liberty Brought Us Here: The True Story of Slaves Who Migrated to Liberia, was published by the University Press of Kentucky. I'm currently working on a biography of a Portuguese diplomat who defied his government's orders to issue life-saving visas to refugees in World War II.
