Bio
I was born Mark James Wood in 1933 in a rural farmhouse in Hartland, Windsor County, VT. One of ten siblings, we started our education in a two-room schoolhouse in North Hartland. Graduating from Hartford High School in 1951, I later went on to Albany Business College in NY. After graduation I started employment in Barre, VT. Thirty-seven years later, I retired from that company as accountant/comptroller.
Working on genealogy during my retirement became very interesting. Especially since I discovered that I'm a 9th generation Mayflower descendant of John Howland. His grandaughter, Susanna Howland, married Ephraim Wood Sr. Many of my ancestors and relatives are buried in Windsor County, VT.
