I have always felt a connection with those family members who have lived and died when I walk among the fading stones of old cemeteries, even when I did not know them when they were alive. I am fortunate to live in the same area as many of my ancestors. 14 of my 16 great, great grandparents are buried within 20 miles of my home. The other 2 also probably are, I just don't know where.

For several years, I have made lists and taken photos of tombstones. I thought I might have been one of a few who had this "strange" pastime. I am learning there are many who think like I do.

In my practical, bill-paying life, I am a Registered Nurse, working in the operating room of our regional hospital.
