First and foremost I want to thank Diehard (#46809256) for sponsoring my mother's memorial. I know not who you are, but I do know you are a wonderful person.

MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT REGARDING CONTRIBUTORS are of those who create unknown burials without any actual knowledge of where someone is buried. Next are those who put someone in a Cemetery or graveyard and then leave a note that the person is assumed to be buried there because of (fill in any one of a hundred different reasons). THIS IS NOT A FAMILY TREE SITE. If you want to make sure someone's parents, spouse, or whomever is known, then submit an edit suggesting that the information be added in the person's bio. I am tired of having to explain to people why I won't link a person to someone in an unknown burial. The reason should be quite obvious. THIS SITE IS FOR PROVIDING BURIAL LOCATIONS. I addressed this a while back (see my "Note" below). But, it keeps on happening. There are numerous websites where you can go build a family tree, but this isn't one of them.

Now, one more rant, and then I will quit. Why should it ever take someone 2 1/2 years to get a contributor to correct or add information to a memorial? If you don't have proof to dispute or refute what someone sends, then you should make the correction or edit.

My American ancestors include the families of Arnold, Bennett, Beresford/Berrisford, Black, Branham, Bryant, Butler, Campbell, Cardwell, Dailey, Dickey, Dorton, Finney, Fraser, Haas, Hale/Hales, Hawkins, Hieatt, Hughes, Jackson, Kendall, Lapsley, Lindsay, Litten, Littrell, Lloyd, Lutz, McBride, McQueen, Meffert/Mefford, Muir, Neal/O'Neal, Pace, Parsons, Perrin, Philips, Pierce, Powers, Pulliam, Redman/Redmon, Roberts, Rucker, Rush, Samms/Sams, Scott, Sheets, Shirley, Sudduth, Stewart, Stuart, Tuley/Tooley, Trout, Vallandingham, Ward, Webb, Williams, Wirt, Witt, Woods, and Woolums. I have traced many of these back to their European roots as well. I will gladly share with you any information I have on their births or deaths. Feel free to ask.

I live in Kentucky, where I have spent the majority of my life, and have been doing genealogy for 53 years. As a young girl of 10, I was out walking graveyards, and scouring through courthouse records while most kids were playing with toys. I remember even before that, I would sit and read the papers my mother had on our family and go through old family albums over and over. I learned all the names of those in the pictures. I have always loved learning new things about my ancestors and their families.

NOTE: I do not link memorials to any memorial that does not contain a specific cemetery other than those that are factually known to be a non-cemetery burial (i.e., cremated, lost at sea, etc.,). Find A Graves rules prohibit using "unknown burial" except for the limited reasons given as a choice on the site.
