Born and raised in Newburg, Preston, West Virginia. Went to thr 6th grade at Newburg Elementry (lived on the corner there below the school). Went to high school across town at Lyons District High School, Newburg. Quit school in the 11th grade and joined the US Army. There I completed my education, wernt to college and made a career of the MIlitary Service (Army)
During my childhood I was never interested in knowing about the family or in family history. In my latter years I became interested in Family Geneology, but by this time most of the family who had knowledge of the family history has passed and taken the information with them. Just can not tell you how many times I have beat myself up because I did not take an interest. Anyway I am now interested in The Casteel Family Geneology and put a lot of time into it. Willing to share any and all information that I have with anyone that desires it.
Many of my relatives are not listed in the find a grave site for Damon Cemetery in Newburg, Preston, West Virginia so I have joined the effort to try a correct as much as I can.
