Bio

I first became interested in genealogy because my mother would go "visit the graves" on Memorial day. She told me that her grandfather was in the Civil War. In 1980, I found his name in Union veterans book in the Library of Congress. By 1990, I was so glad the Internet was invented to easily access records. I found a relative of my grandfather who had photos of him starting in 1870. He sustained a head wound and had to send in photographs of himself to keep his $6/month pension. Recently, I have been honouring memorials for those who served with my father in the 63rd Infantry Regiment , 6th Infantry Division in World War 2 in the Southwest Pacific Area; Papua New Guinea and Luzon, Philippines. Most of my information comes Ancestry.com and the book "The 6th Infantry Division in World War Two: 1939 - 1945" published in 1947 by the Infantry Journal, Inc. It can be read on-line in PDF form at the web site: www.6thinfantry.com/6th-infantry-division-in-world-war-ii/
