My name is Gerald Allen Brendle (Jerry). I was born in Peachtree Hospital, Murphy, NC on December 13 1946 to Samuel Allen Brendle (born July 12 1909/ died July 12 1988) and Hazel Ruby Brendle (born February 22 1911/ died November 12, 2003). I am an only child, and I myself have no children. My paternal grandfather was William Manly Brendle (born November 17 1848/ died August 17 1941) and his wife was Lydia Baine Brendle (1874-1939). My dad had one brother Pender Brendle (born May 8 1903/ died October 10 1979 and one sister Lula Brendle (both dead now).
My mother's parents were John Quincey (Quince) Allen (born February 25 1883 /died August 10 1959) and Isabel Jones Allen (born April 23 1888 / died March 19 1975). Her parents were George W. (born January 19 1861/ died December 5 1934) and Georgie L. (born February 22 1860/ died May 6 1940) Jones. Mr. GeorgeJones was the Postmaster at Postell NC where he operated a general store and post office for many years. This post office no longer exists.
My dad, Samuel Allen Brendle, who always went by Allen, operated a grocery store and gas station over at the "forks of the road" directly facing Wehutty Mountain. He ran the store there from around 1943 or 1944 until 1961 when we moved to Asheville. There he operated another similar business until he retired around 1973. My wife, Pat, and myself still live here in Asheville, NC.

My mother's parents were John Quincey (Quince) Allen (born February 25 1883 /died August 10 1959) and Isabel Jones Allen (born April 23 1888 / died March 19 1975). Her parents were George W. (born January 19 1861/ died December 5 1934) and Georgie L. (born February 22 1860/ died May 6 1940) Jones. Mr. GeorgeJones was the Postmaster at Postell NC where he operated a general store and post office for many years. This post office no longer exists.
