A descendent of Archibald McLachlan and Mary McArthur, their son John (m. Susannah McIntosh) and their grandson John (m. Catherine McKenzie).
5th generation to have been raised on the original family farm at Lot 8, Con 5 of East Williams Twp, Middlesex Co (near London, Ontario, Canada). The land was petitioned on Nov 2, 1832 and registered Feb 18, 1836 "from the Canada Company to John McLauchlin: 217 acres more or less." This was John ('Yankee John') McLachlan and his wife Catherine McKenzie.
