My Parent Paul Owen "Dick' Whaley 1922-2002 and Dorothy Lee Treadway Whaley 1925-2010. Both live the entire life in Sulphur Rock, AR. I was born in Batesville, AR 1/6/1950. I went all twelve years of school at SR and graduate in 1967. In 1970 married Gary Cooper Gipson of Newark, AR. I own operate Newark Florist 1971-1992 in Newark, AR. In March 1990 Married Slayton Thompson and move to Cedar Rapids, IA. I have one son James Monroe Gipson, 3 grandchildren Meghan 1994, Taylor 1995, Khloe 2011
. My mom went to Crautherville, Mo to Take care of her grandparent Henry and Annie Dempsey Tillman in 1944-45. Dorothy Return to SR and finish high school 1946. "Dick" was a cotton, wheat, soybean, cattle farmer. My parent live the whole married life north of Sulphur Rock on the Whaley PLACE THAT MY GREAT GRANDFATHER R.P. Whaley HOMESTEAD IN THE LATE 1870S. My mom family Claude and Ruby Tillman Treadway move to SR in late 1920s. Grandpa Claude was raise in SR. Grandma Ruby was raise in Yell county , AR. Dick 's mom was Virgie Owen Whaley from Magness, AR. My Great grandparents, R.P. Whaley and Tennesse Prince Whaley are burial at Magness cemetary, Magness, AR. Plus near them are 4 of 8 of their children. Annie Whaley Thomas, Addie Whaley Combs, John A. Whaley (Independence count tax collector and assesor in late 1930s early 1950s.)
Eva (?not sure of spelling) Whaley James. (She was a teacher hit in head with base ball at recess and die)
THe R. P. Whaley's place from late 1870s is north of Sulphur Rock on N.Vaughn. I still live there plus my son's family.
R. P. Whaley's brother William plus family are also burial at Magness cemetary.
