PLEASE, DO NOT TRY TO GATEKEEP. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE. INTENTIONAL PERPETUATION OF MISINFORMATION IS UNACCEPTABLE.

You must understand that with genealogy, everything is not black and white. Everything will not fit into a nice, neat package of perfectly preserved documents. Your unwillingness to understand and accept this indicates your complete lack of respect for the resources available, the researchers, and the deceased.

Also, official documents, such as death/birth/marriage certificates, overrides anything written in a newspaper as newspapers are not official documents. As for census records, yes they often do contain mistakes, but whether you like it or not, they are official documents. In a time when many people could not read or write, those who could, even if barely, did the best they could and sometimes, that is the best we are going to get. It is acceptable to note when you personally know there is an error in such document but you do not have to be hateful, rude, or uncooperative about it.

If you are provided with legitimate proof and you refuse to accept the facts, I ask only that you remove yourself from the platform because that is a major red flag that you do not care about the truth or the facts. Just because you don't like what was discovered, don't want to take the time to ensure accurracy, or simply only care about how many memorials you can hoard, it doesn't mean have the right to ignore such proof.
