My interest in geneology has been forever but it became serious in 1982 when our son was born. We wanted to do this for him. The Tacy (Tessier) family originated in Canada and immigrated to NY state in 1830 settling in around Saranac, Dannemora, "Clintonville". Our main focus and many trips to upstate NY was to find where they went, what they did and what they were like as they moved around to different towns buying land, and finally, in the 1870's one by one the made their way to western Massachusetts for work. (which is where we are)! Names we search for are the many spellings of Tessier, Patenaude (mainly) , then there are the second wives, Leno, but...we have found all 16 Tacy siblings. However we don't know where their mom and dad is....Abraham Tessier and Rosaline (Locke). (And we are missing a wife Ursule Patenaude). We visited Abraham Tessier's homestead site on the main road to Dannemora, and the current owner was so gracious to let us go on their land and tell the story. Its been an interesting 43 years.
