Sometime between 1924 and 1930, my Grandfather, Leslie "Lester" Keeley Faw (1894-1950), was an Auto Mechanic in Chicago that performed work that was affected by organized crime rackateering. His life had been threatened by Gangster Al Capone's "thugs" (he wouldn't support their "cause"). To protect his family, he changed his last name, and the last name of his wife Mildred and their 2 boys, Lester and Lloyd to "Foster" and relocated to Peoria, Illinois. During the 1930s and 40s, the entire family migrated to Southern California. I first learned about our family history while growing up in Yorba Linda, CA. Hence, my motivation to join Ancestry.com.
We moved to Twin Falls , Idaho, in 2005.
