I was born and raised in Pikesville, Maryland. I have been researching my family history since the 1960's. 3 Gompf brothers, Peter, John, George, immigrated from Germany in the mid 19th century. Peter and John settled in the Baltimore area. George went to Canada.

I am also researching the Thomas side of my family. Many of these people are buried at the Pines Cemetery, New Oxford, PA. They date back to the immigrant J. Philip Thomas who arrived in Philadelphia in 1747 from Germany. More recent names have been Gompf, Eckhardt, Waltman, then 4 generations of Thomas'.
I also have an extensive list of Nordwalls.
