My husband Skip (contributor #47542867) and I have seven children between us; 6 sons and 1 daughter. We also have 3 adorable grandsons. Gathering and documenting as much of our family histories as we can, while we can, is for all of them as much as it is for us. We hope, as many surely do, that the history we are able to share with our kids will be kept, handed down and shared with many generations to follow.
An interest in genealogy is just one of many things my husband and I have in common. The other big thing is that we are both career firefighter-paramedics with the Cedar Rapids Fire Department.
My personal interest in genealogy stems from the fact both my parents come from large families. My Mom 1 of 14 children and my Dad 1 of 8 children. Family gatherings can be quite an event. Researching, organizing and entering information into my family tree has been quite a challenge at times as the 'tradition' of having large families has been handed down for many, MANY generations.
