Please do NOT sent edits to add a period to the middle inital of a name. They will be declined as a . isn't necessary. It doesn't change the information.

I can't transfer memorials to those who use a alias instead of there real name as there is no way to determine if you are actually related to the memorial you are requesting.

The problem with citing a funeral home for a obituary is......they don't keep them online forever and then the information isn't available. Many time an obituary is the only way to link family members.

Since the move to Ancestry and the new website, newspaper obituaries, death certificates and other scanned documentation is allowed. We encourage members to move the images down to the bottom of the photo display so that they are not the first thing you see when viewing a memorial page.

Find a Grave Administration

It is important to enter place of birth and death in the proper place on a memorial as it is where many places pull information from which GREATLY helps when someone is researching family members. They can't pull from what is written in the bio section. Be a helpful find a graver and put information in the correct location.

When a baby or young child passes away it is helpful if the parents are listed in the bio section so when they pass away they can be linked to their child.

I use Ancestry (238.00), Archives (119.88), Geneology Bank(99.90), Newspapers (119.80) in researching memorials.

(These sources are what I use when suggesting edits, many times information comes from all of them for a more complete picture.)

When people are looking for a relatives burial place it's most helpful to have complete information on their memorial if possible.

If you ask for a memorial to be transferred please state how you are related or why you would like the memorial. Please provide your FAG ID so I don't have to look for it!

I don't believe people should be given numbers as names. We are all more than a number. If the parents didn't give a baby a name they don't become a number.

If you believe something is wrong please use the edit tab on that memorial to tell me. (Am I repeating myself - apparently, it's necessary as I keep getting vague emails to make changes)
