I'm always looking for the next clue connecting the links of my family tree and am more than happy to help anyone else do the same. Send me an email or leave a message here.I am VERY interested in ANY information ANYONE may have regarding the Sykes/Sikes line. My father was a Sykes, and it's very difficult to find any information past my paternal Great-Grandparents: John H. Sykes and Penina "Penny" Bell Sykes. Likewise, I have also hit a roadblock in my Davis line. My 3rd Great-Grandparents were: Arthur "Arter" Davis and "Becky" Amanda Mae Woodard Davis. I have found a Samuel and Rebecca Davis that may be his parents, but the information is sketchy at best. Also searching for: Jemima Phillip Hughes, (John?) Stephen Augustus Hughes, James Devereaus/Devro Talton.I realize that this is not a genealogy site, but if you think you may have any info (no matter how small), please do share. That one little piece of information could make all the difference in the world.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~For those of you who disapprove of transferring memorials to someone because you have "contributed" more memorials than they have, please keep the precious memorials to yourself and save us all a lot of heartache. As I was told, "It's a sharing thing." Yes, it is. It's not a "I've contributed more than you" thing.If you want to keep a memorial of someone's family member just because you created it but not because it is one of your cherished family members, please understand that these memorials are not just a notch in your belt or just another memorial to add to your collection; they actually mean something to those who are related to the deceased however distant the relation may be regardless of the "rules." It's just plain common decency.To those "creators" who complain about others using their photos of gravestones and not giving you credit for taking it, LEARN TO PUT A WATERMARK ON THEM. Problem SOLVED. To those folks who just simply do not want to give consent for their pictures to be used by a relative of the deceased regardless of how and where, it just proves that you care more about your "contributions" than you do about the families left behind.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Do not let anyone deter you from your search.
