I am Rick Woosley. Born and raised in Nashville, TN. I am researching a variety of ancestors from both the north and south of the U.S., including the Woosley, Cobb, Sawyer, Batts, Poole, Cunningham, Whitlock, Teasley, Prince, Laitinen, Drake, Gove, Whitney, Spencer, Henry, Chase, Clawson, Crow, Christy, Hunter, Sillin, Gregory, Yarbrough, Hinton, Burt, Hasty, Reese, & Mullins families, as well as many others. I have a variety of relatives both southern and northern, mainly from Tennessee, Ohio, & Massachusetts with some Virginia & North Carolina thrown in to boot (so far), although I anticipate I'll be adding more. I have relatives who fought both for the Union and the Confederacy. On the New England side of my family, I have a direct ancestor who, as a colonist in New Hampshire in the 1600's, was jailed in the Tower of London for "committing treason against King Charles I. Oh the New England side of my family I am also related to the famous Whitney family. On the southern side of my family, I have a direct ancestor who was one of the original settlers of the town now known as Pleasant View, TN. My genealogy journey has opened up some exciting new insights into my family tree, and I look forward to finding more.
