I am a S Louisianan transplanted to NW Louisiana. I grew up on the Amite River where the mouth of the river merges with Lake Maurepas. This is where 5 generations of my ancestors fished, trapped and hunted. Our family has always had a camp/home on the Amite River.
I grew up hunting, fishing, trapping, shrimping, crabbing and loving the life of a "river rat" raised kid. ~
The Amite River and Lake Maurepas are where my heart and memories lie as well as my generations of my ancestors. They left a part of themselves on the river, banks and all of its waterways (swamp runs). I am sure that they loved the river as much as my Dad and me. ~
It is the one place that I continue to love more than any other place on earth. As the ashes from my earthly body are to released to become a part of the wind and water -so my spirit can soar up to the Heavens. ~
I will have a memorial marker placed @ Davidson Cemetery next to my Mom and Dad ~
