I'm a 70 year, old-how did that happen?-female who was born in Fremont Ohio. We moved to California when I was 6. My mother grew up on a farm close to Oakland Cemetery in Sandusky Ohio.I'm told it was located where the First Congregational Church now stands.I had 14 Aunts and Uncles on her side and eight on my father's side.He was also from Sandusky.I was told one of my Uncles served as a longtime caregiver to the Oakland Cemetery grounds there.
When I started working on a family tree and found your site it seemed like a nice thing to do. As I learn more about where people in my family are buried I may be asking some of you for help with photographing graves.
My daughter and I often visit cemeteries in our weekend wanderings anyway.This seemed a logical step. I enjoy the history and variety ways people are memorialized. I've been less active lately due to health issues but hope to get more involved soon.
