I'm A. Blake Denton. I was born on June 13, 1989 in Huntsville, Alabama to Kenneth and Karen Denton. I spent the first half of my childhood in Morgan City, Alabama and the rest in Arab, Alabama. I graduated from Athens State University where I majored in History.
I have always been fascinated by cemeteries. Gravestones and cemeteries provide a rich, enlightening source of public history that is, unfortunately, often neglected and forgotten. However, I think this website has the potential to reverse this state and inaugurate a revival of remembrance and reverence. Beautiful North Alabama is my home. Here in God's country we have many pristine cemeteries to visit and pay respect for the dead.
For those who like to go camping, there is a hiking trail at Guntersville State Park that leads to an old, serene cemetery in the woods. It is in my opinion the best trail that the park has. Of course, there are many other great cemeteries to visit.
Lastly, I would like to give thanks to my uncle, Larry Denton, for taking the time to add and manage the memorials of my grandparents. If you would be so generous as to leave flowers and a note for my grandparents, Margaret Ann "Memaw" Brown Denton and William Robert "PaPaw" Denton, I would greatly appreciate it.
