I have been researching my ancestry for years. I have found Findagrave to be so helpful in the "final chapter" on that person I am looking for. My goal here is to help as I can when I can. I am an open and understanding person who is only trying to add dimension to a profile.

I have "adopted" many FG profiles and would love any help you all are willing to offer so we can bring these profiles to life.

Please do: Add the profile number along with your message, this helps greatly.

Please:

1. Add a citation to your photos and/or documents you upload to profiles. We must do the right thing and cite sources.
2. Please let me know what your source is for the suggested edits in the bottom of that edit page- send me a note so I do not have to try and do all of the research myself to prove or disprove your suggestion.
3. I would love to hit the 'Accepted' button BUT I will not add information without valid sources. Familysearch.org, for example, is a simple click to capture the cited source information back to their site. I can follow that trail with pleasure!
4. The whole point of FG is so our ancestors have proper representation of facts so we can 'find' them today.
5. Headstone photos- Please add the whole stone and perhaps where they are located, not just the immediate details- name dates etc. Are they near some people with the same surname? Do some research on those folks and add notations to your photos even if they aren't related. This can help others perhaps find the headstone especially if it's near a massive monument or a flag pole. Are they under a very old beautiful tree? Take a photo! Do add some 'life' to their photos as much as possible.

Also, any edits requested and approved will be noted in the biographical area of the persons profile with the requesters FG number.

Generally any 'inherited' profiles that I have adopted, have information that was previously entered. I will delete things that are redundant- father/mother names IF they are already added as their parent etc. I will come around and try to do the necessary research on stated 'facts' left by the other person who had maintained the profile as much as possible. Just drop me a line and I promise I will do my best.

Thanks again for all of the help out there and please don't think I am snappy LOL! I just am having a few folks from time to time sending messages with nothing to back up a claim! I grade on a curve so everyone who gives a care on doing the right thing (cite sources, give a good bread crumb trail to follow) will pass the class with an 'A'!! =)
