After 43 years of working in higher education as both a tenured professor and administrator, I have turned my attention to my and my wife's family history. My research interest is focused on the following surnames: Johnston, Hethcox, Anderson, Compton, Smith, Carr, Aulds, Sims, and Houston. Most of our past is tied within the states of SC,GA,AL,LA,MS,and TX.
Having used find-a-grave as a primary source of documentation, I began to discover that a number of our relatives did not have their headstones displayed. That sparked an interest in becoming a contributor.
As I continue my quest to trace family roots back as far as documentation will allow, I am interested in helping other genealogists in their quest where I have resources to provide.
