In seeking to solve some family rumors, I got bit by the genealogy bug. Now I am a DAR member and a Mayflower Society Member (descendant of Alden, Brewster, Mullins and Warren,so far)which were and are topics and products of my rumor-solving expedition. I have a lot of roots in MA, CT, VT NY,and Quebec, England and Scotland but was born in California as my maternal grandparents, separately as children with their families, migrated out there to escape the cold of Quebec and Syracuse at the beginning of the 20th century. I have resided in Washington State since January 1977.
I found "Find A Grave" in trying to solve some of those missing links. In October of 2008, I took a family history trip (my vacation) to Plymouth, MA; Stonington, CT; and several areas in NY and found some family graves in Oneida but was unaware, at that time, of another cemetery in Pompey Hill where a lot of family members were laid to rest. Unfortunately, many are not yet listed here, so I am still at work on some of the riddles. Do they ever end? Probably not!!
