I am a retired librarian from Memphis, TN now living in Nashville. I love history.
My mother and Grandmother (Agnes Nicholson Grice) used to take my sister, brother and me to Forest Hill Cemetery in Memphis to put flowers on our relatives graves for every birthday and holiday. We loved playing at the cemetery.
My mother's family section was just across the street from Elvis Presley's mom's small mausoleum with the angel outside. The Presley family had it moved after Elvis' death along with Elvis' body to Graceland.
Because of my mom, we never thought of the cemetery as a creepy place. We thought of it as a place to learn our family history.
My dad's family is also buried in Forest Hill Cemetery.
