Working in the funeral business in a large city many years ago gave me a great love of being in cemeteries. After setting up for graveside services (always ready one hour ahead of service time), there was most always plenty of time to roam, read, imagine, admire and reflect on the seemingly endless rows of "stories" to be pondered in the endless variety of different headstones and monuments. Not to mention the serenity, beauty, and peacefulness most always found there.

Doing my own genealogy was later in life, but now are intricately tied. Since I don't live close to any of my relatives/ancestors graves, I submit info and manage as many of my closest relatives (all in Ohio) from Find-A-Grave.

Since moving to NW Arkansas, I enjoy stopping at the old, remote, country cemeteries on the many back roads around here, as well as trying to get to the more "out of the way" ones, which can be tricky in some areas here in the Ozarks. It's a special treat to take the entire family to a remote country cemetery to "find-a-grave" for someone and take pictures. Both kids get their own identical list of photo requests and off they go! They look forward to it, and often ask to go after church Sundays. Often a great family time.

I am grateful for all the volunteers here and all their help, whether in fulfilling my photo request or transferring a relative to my care or otherwise helping me to contribute the parts of my family tree here that I can.
