FindaGrave is a database of graves (not a database of deceased people.) Just a reminder.

Genealogist, local historian, and historian of higher education, with special interest in Cleveland area history, my own family tree, the Dunham family associated with the Dunham Tavern Museum and Gardens, friends' family trees, and 19th century and early 20th century American higher education administrators. My primary cemeteries are Cleveland cemeteries and nearby cemeteries. I've done large photo sweeps in Calvary, Woodland, Highland Park, East Cleveland Township, Harvard Grove, St. Joseph's, Monroe Street, Glenville, and several other Cleveland area cemeteries. I've taken many photos in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent, Ohio, and in mid-2015 I completed a multi-year full sweep of that cemetery (photos of each stone... although it is always possible I missed a few.) In July 2012, I entered memorials for all readable headstones (not already represented in Find A Grave) in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church cemetery in Garfield Heights, Ohio where my family has a lot of history. I've also taken photos and worked in other cemeteries in Cuyahoga and Portage counties as well as places I just happen to visit. If you see errors, typos, or incorrect links - my apologies! Please let me know so I can correct them.

As a practice, I generally don't link memorials I manage to floating memorials (no cemetery listed) unless there is documentation that the individual does not have a grave (e.g. burial at sea, cemetery washed away.) It's kinda cheating to make a memorial just because you know someone died, but you don't know where the burial took place, so please respect those who do the hard work of matching people to gravesites by records or by foot. After all, the site IS called FindaGrave, so don't add memorials if you didn't... well, you know... find a grave. :)
