Born in Jackson, Hinds, Mississippi USA 1949. Lived most of my life in Rankin County, Mississippi USA. Retired after 38 years in the banking industry (BancorpSouth) and 23 years in the United States Air Force and the Mississippi Air National Guard (172nd Airlift Wing). Retired as a Major and was a C-130 pilot. Currently a member of ancestry.com. Son of James Harland Edwards and Otrice Tipton SHOWS. Descendant of Issac EDWARDS, b.1775 and John Adam SHOWS, b. 1760. Most ancestors lived in Simpson, Scott, Smith, Jones and Rankin Counties of Mississippi USA.
I am looking for a grave for Jackson J. Edwards. He was born in 1815 in Franklin, GA. He died in 1883 in Smith County, MS. He had a son named James Jackson (Doc) Edwards who died 2 Jan 1924 and is buried in Summerland Baptist Church Cemetery, Smith, MS. From ancestry.com, all records indicate he died in Smith, MS but I have not been able to find a grave site. His father was Issac Edwards and he is buried in Phillips Cemetery, Philadelphia, Neshoba, MS. He died 13 Nov 1845.
My wife, Barbara Gail (Malone) Edwards and I are working together under one membership. Her relatives are Malone, Steinwinder, O'Flynn (sometimes spelled O'Flinn) and Finnegan. Most relatives lived in Lauderdale, Jasper, Forest and Chickasaw counties.
