While searching for a first cousins burial place, I found Find A Grave. I had no idea this venue existed. I remember thinking how wonderful this community is, especially if you are not close enough to visit the cemetery of your loved ones. The time and energy spent by volunteers to document headstones, not just of their family but for others, is a very special gift. As a new researcher desiring to link my family, communication with others has provided valuable information and linking the pieces of the puzzle has been rewarding.

My parents are now gone and I should have listened closer when I was younger. I hope by creating these memorials for relatives I never knew and family I miss, I will be able to leave a legacy for my children and grandchildren.
